Auto-responders aren't that bad

Time is the enemy of most business owners, managers and marketers.
So many people to contact, so few hours in the day! With the rapid advance of technology and vast improvements in internet connectivity comes a number of time savers that are - thankfully - accessible and easy to use.
One example is the humble auto-responder. An auto-responder is an automated message sent to potential customers as a result of them filling in a simple form on your website.
If a visitor to your website is happy to fill in the form and provide their email address, they are giving you permission to contact them via email. This opens up a world of marketing possibilities!
You can now send them, for instance:
- regular emails addressing each recipient by name
- information about your products and services
- timely updates or progress reports on, the release of a new product or service
- information relating to your industry
- surveys from which you can collect valuable information about your target market
- invitations to special events.
Once the marketing material has been created the actual distribution can be scheduled to take place automatically.
By keeping the name of your business regularly in their line of sight - creating what is called top of mind awareness - yours will be the first business your customer thinks of when either they or someone they know needs or wants what you are offering.
Including an auto-responder form on your website is essential if you want to stay in touch with your potential customers without spending hours on the phone, writing letters or engaging in some of the other more personalised forms of marketing. And let's face it, who couldn't do with a few extra hours a week?
So where to now?
