Turn your Marketing to Hot


Have you had one of those moments when You’ve seen or heard something that makes your heart flutter a little and your breath starts to quicken… ?

This is the reaction all marketers want from their audiences, known as “hitting the hot buttons”.

Think of it this way: Do you buy a pair of shoes because they are made from leather? Or do you buy them to keep your feet warm, because they will go perfect with your new outfit, and because they will be comfortable when you wear them?

If you want to hit your customers’ hot buttons, you need get noticed and it’s all about the benefits!

What’s in it for me?

When shoppers are looking for a product or service, they ask themselves “what’s in it for me?” because they are looking for a product that will offer them the benefits they need. You must tell them what they will get out of purchasing your product or service before they lose interest and look elsewhere.

Every shopper is constantly bombarded with marketing and advertising so as a general rule you have approximately five seconds to catch a shoppers attention before they move on… so you have make use of that five seconds!

Make your moment count.

Rather than focusing just on the price and attributes of your product, communicate to your potential customers what they will get out of purchasing it. If they are paying money for something, it must be worthwhile. It must have value.

Next time you ask yourself how to make your customers say ‘wow’, remember to answer the question they’ll be asking: What’s in it for me?
